AMY LOREEN WHITTENBERGER     writer. director. actor.
Amy Loreen Whittenberger received her B.A. in theatre at Florida State University before transplanting to Chicago in 2006. She founded and was the Co-Artistic Director of The Tympanic Theatre Company where her work and direction were featured in many subsequent productions before she moved on to help found The Consortium Project Theatre Company, where she now serves as their Literary Manager. Amy's shorter works have acrued production credits in Texas, Florida, and Chicago.  Her full-length play CROWD PLEASER was produced by The Barestage Theatre in California, and other full-lengths, some titles which include DRAFT, MUSING, and TRUE TWILIGHT: A GLEE CLUB MUSICAL, have had local productions; some of the windy city companies that have produced Amy's scripts are Gorilla Tango, The Side Project, and The American Theatre Company.  Her porfolio also includes screenplays, spec scripts, an original webisode series, sketch comedy, and one novel.  As a director, her work was most recently featured in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest with TCP, and Chug Chicago: A Drinking Party Musical with Gorilla Tango Theatre, which she also authored.   As an actor, she is a proud graduate of The Second City Conservatory and performed with her improv group, Trying Too Hard, for a year-long run at The Playground Theatre in Chicago and at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival in 2008.  In the fall of 2011, Amy will begin pursuing her MFA at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles as a screenwriting fellow.
